Term Meaning
Age For each day that passes, all beings except Lost Souls and those in Torpor will age
  • Humans display their mortal age

    • 500 - 749 Days | Senior
    • 750 - 999 Days | Veteran
    • 1000+ Days | Elder

  • Supernatural beings display their supernatural age
    • 0 - 29 Nights | Neonate
    • 30 - 99 Nights | Initiate
    • 100 - 249 Nights | Adult
    • 250 - 499 Nights | Mature
    • 500 - 749 Nights | Senior
    • 750 - 999 Nights | Veteran
    • 1000 - 1249 Nights | Elder
    • 1250 - 1499 Nights | Revered Elder
    • 1500 - 1749 Nights | Venerable Elder
    • 1750 - 1999 Nights | Exalted Elder

Bloodline Bloodline is a term used to describe a common ancestry tracing back to a single being
  • The founder of a Bloodline is known as a Progenitor
Blood Group All humans are born with a Blood Group, this carries over into supernatural unlife
  • There are 8 Blood Groups, listed here by rarity
    • O Positive (O+) [Common]
    • A Positive (A+)
    • O Negative (O-)
    • B Positive (B+)
    • A Negative (A-)
    • B Negative (B-)
    • AB Positive (AB+)
    • AB Negative (AB-) [Rare]
Cadet Branch Cadet Branch refers to any house that is not the Founding House in its Dynasty
Caitiff Caitiff is a term used to describe a supernatural being who has no knowledge of, or has lost connection to their bloodline
  • All Revenants and Wraiths are Caitiff
  • If a supernatural being with descendants becomes Human again by using the Potion of Humanity, all descendants of this being will become Caitiff as their connection to their bloodline is severed
  • Supernatural beings can remove a Lost Soul from their Direct Descendants by using a Potion of Abandonment, the Lost Soul will become Caitiff
  • All Caitiff inherit a Hereditary Title based on the Caitiff Surname of their former Bloodline
Caitiff Surname All Bloodlines have a Caitiff Surname, a name given to those who are known to be abandoned members of the line
  • Caitiff Surnames are usually closely linked to a specific trait of their respective Bloodline
Clan A Clan is a group of Houses ruled by a Sovereign
  • Clans belong to the Bloodline of their Sovereign

Coffin The coffin can be used to enter torpor
  • Players in torpor do not suffer from the curse
  • Players in torpor do not age
  • Each night spent in Torpor will cost 1 Potency
Curse All registered avatars have a daily loss of Vital Energy due to hunger.
The effects of this hunger are felt each night at Midnight SLT (00:00)

Descendant A descendant is any player in your bloodline who can trace their ancestry back to you
  • Direct Descendants are often referred to by names such as 'progeny', 'childe', 'offspring', 'scion', 'minion' and many more
  • Descendants are often collectively referred to by names such as 'progeny', 'childer', 'brood', 'get' and many more
Dynasty Dynasty is a term used to describe a hierarchy of Houses
Founding House A Founding House is the First House in a Dynasty and is considered the Sovereign House of the Dynasty
Generation All supernatural beings have a generation, determining their 'closeness' to the source of their power
  • Your generation will be one higher than that of your sire
    • Example: 4th Generation Vampires will create 5th Generation Vampires
Head of Dynasty Head of Dynasty is a term referring to the leader of the founding house in a dynasty
Head of House Head of House is a term referring to the leader of a house
History Many actions in Bloodlust are recorded with historical entries
House A House is a group of players consisting of the Head of House and their Loyal Subjects
  • Players can join a house by accepting a member of a house as their liege
  • Houses can join Clans or remain Independent
  • Real life example of a House that is the Founding House of a Dynasty: House of Wettin

Liege Players can pledge their alliegance to a Liege (another player), becoming a Loyal Subject of that player
  • Players can join a house by accepting a member of a house as their liege
Lineage Lineage refers to a players bloodline, ancestry, descendants and loyal subjects collectively
Loyal Subject Loyal Subjects are players who have pledged their alliegance to a Liege
  • Players can join a house by accepting a member of a house as their liege
Masquerade The Masquerade indicates how well a supernatural blends in with mortal society
  • The higher your masquerade rating is, the lower your curse will be
  • Feeding, Killing and Fighting in the presence of Non-Players will reduce your masquerade rating
  • There are 11 masquerade ratings, listed here from best to worst

    Potency Potency is the power to create new life held in your Vital Energy
    • Potency generates daily, the amount generated depends on Generation
    • Potency is requred to sire new descendants
    Rank Ranks are decided by the number of Direct Descendants a player has
    Regent The title Regent may refer to the following:
    • The deputy/second in command of a clan
    • The deputy/second in command of a bloodline
    Region An area of land in Second Life known as a Region
    Reputation Reputation is lowered and raised based on your actions throughout the world

    Sanctuary A sanctuary is a place where you cannot feed using your HUD, also known as a Safe Zone
  • Sanctuaries are pre-coded into the HUD by the developer
  • Players may not create or request the creation of sanctuaries
  • Sect A sect is a social organization usually composed of multiple likeminded clans.
    • The following is a list of sects:
      • Traditionalist
      • Anarchist
      • Independent
      • Outcast
      • Autarkis
    Sire Upon becoming a supernatural being, the player who created you becomes your sire (your maker)
    • Your bloodline will be the bloodline of your sire (Unless you create one)
    • Your generation will be one higher than that of your sire
      • Example: 4th Generation Vampires will create 5th Generation Vampires
    Sovereign The title Sovereign may refer to the following:
    • The ruler of a region
    • The leader of a clan
    • The leader of a bloodline
    Title Titles are decided by the number of Direct Loyal Subjects a player has
    Unawakened All avatars who have not joined the Bloodlust System are known as Unawakened, Unaware Mortals or Non-Players
    • Unawakened avatars regenerate health daily (Unless they are Dead)
    • Unawakened avatars will have one of the following Health Statuses
      • Healthy (76 - 100% Health)
      • Average (51 - 75% Health)
      • Weak (26 - 50% Health)
      • Sick (1 - 25% Health)
      • Dead (0% Health)
    Vital Energy Vital Energy is a beings health
    • Types of Vital Energy:
      • Mortality, Spirit, Blood, Vitality, Torment, Virtue, Willpower, Enchantment, Magick, Dark Magick
    Wine Barrel Wine Barrels are used to turn Fruit Juices into Wines
    Wine Blender Used to blend wines with other wines or Vital Energy
    Zodiac Signs There are 12 Zodiac Signs
    • An avatars Zodiac Sign corresponds to their SL Birthday (Rez Day)
    • The Sun Zodiac corresponds to the position of the Sun
    • The Moon Zodiac corresponds to the position of the Moon
